Tony G makes a move from poker to politics
His idea is to introduce new people to the politics in Lithuania
Antanas Guoga, the born in Lithuania and better known in the world of poker as Tony G whose chatter is worthless, will be making his way to the EU Parliament situated in Brussels as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Lithuania.
Announcing the news on his website Guoga said: "Creating the list positions me well for the next year. During its European parliamentary election the Liberal Party has made its goal to fight for two seats. At present, the European Parliament's Liberal Movement has a single representative which means that the way ahead is full of hard work to be done. Whatever the case, I am well qualified and capable of accomplishing the task. I have set my goals."
The belief of Guoga is that politics in Lithuania is in need of new blood and new people and that he desires to be in a position that will allow him to change policies.
"I have been very fortunate to be successful in live and my hopes and ideas are sure to inspire other to step into politics too. It is my belief that I have much to offer my country through my live and business experience," said in a statement Guoga.
In his great stile Guoga ended his speech by saying: "You can count on one thing in my new world of politics – During debates on my watch no online poker will be played on a laptop or phone." – it is a humorous reference to John McCain, the US Senator, who was seen doing that two months ago.
