Skillz is offering to US players real-money tournaments
Beta version of a new offering for multiplayer launched by a mobile skill gaming developer
Skillz Inc., the specialist firm for mobile skill gaming, exploits the US legislature for skill-related gaming by introducing a version of a public beta testing for a new multiplayer, real-money and free-play tournament platform for players based in the US>
The platform, which at present is made available for Android devices, allows for cash competitions to be hosted by game developers in 36 states, additionally to virtual currency and free tournaments throughout the world.
"While the boom of virtual currency continues, developers of games are in need of complementary and innovative ways to bring value to their content," said the said of the company, Andrew Paradise.
"Of all mobile game revenues eighteen per cent went last year to the top twenty development studios. Mobile gaming is taken to a whole new level via tournaments by an enhanced gameplay. It makes it more fun and social as players enter into competition with each other. For developers, competitions enter into better user retention, longer sessions and an increase in revenue," claims Paradise.
The new platform of Skillz has content from nine more studios under the names of Rocketmind, Gnarly Games, Rogue Rocker, Spooky House Studious, Coeus Creative, DMW Design Group, Ilyon Dynamica, The Game Boss/Geniteam Solutions and WSM.
The games span over a number of genres, among them puzzle, sports and arcade. For as little as $0.25, players are able to take part in real-money tournaments.
