US Jockey Clubs's new social games
The world of social gaming has been entered by the US Jockey Club with two new online titles launch. The new games aim at combining the excitement of horse racing with the fun of social media and the skill of fantasy sports. Conducted by McKinsey & Company, the management consultants, they were created as part of a wide range initiative for fan development.
"Our fan development strategy is complemented by these games. Our television programming and our Best Racing platform will heavily promote them", The Jockey Club's business development vice president, Jason G. Wilson, said. "In teaching our customers how to play online games, such as online poker, while attracting more fans, free to play online games have proven very successful."
"As evident from the 85 million FarmVille's 'farmers', of whom 30 million play each day, social gaming proves to be a major entertainment platform", said he. "Racing's brand and relevance could be built up by a game like Thoroughbred World which simulates, for casual and dedicated fans, the Thoroughbred owner experience."
The Major League Horse Racing is inspired by both the fantasy sports. The focused on training, owning and breeding sport aspects Thoroughbred World is also available through Facebook. Eligible for prizes would be the Major Horseracing League's highest scoring players. The prizes will be revealed during the season.
More than 1200 players have so far been attracted by the Major League Horse Racing, was revealed by the Jockey Club. Since its last week's launch, attracted by the Thoroughbred World have been 2000 players.
